Configuring Presets

PTZ presets enable you to store a PTZ camera’s position for later recall.

To set up a PTZ preset, go to the Camera settings page and switch to the PTZ tab.

To create a preset:

1. Move the camera to the position you want saved

2. Enter a name for the preset in the Preset name field.

3. Click Save

4. To check the preset, click Go to.

To edit an existing preset, overwrite it by saving a new preset with the same name.

Using Presets

From the Live view, click the drawing pin icon, then select the preset you want to recall. Presets will also sync to the mobile app.

Return To Home

You can configure a camera to return to a home position after a predetermined period.

To set up return to home:

1. Create a preset position you want to use for the home position.

2. Decide when the camera should return home: Always, Never or When Armed.

3. Chose the preset position you created in step 1.

4. Choose the delay before the camera returns to home after the last manual PTZ command.

Notes

PTZ presets in Giraffe Cloud are stored independently from those on the camera itself. The camera is simply instructed to move to specific coordinates.

If you enable guard tours or auto tracking on the camera, Giraffe Cloud will have no control over these features and it will interfere with Giraffe AI. Make sure the camera’s own settings do not conflict with your Giraffe Cloud configuration.
